Donn has been on the music scene for over forty years. He is well liked and respected everywhere. During his long musical career, Donn has played with some of the best musicians in the country. His playing is spirited, innovative, and above all musical. As an author of four innovative drum books, he was featured on the cover of Drum World Magazine along with Louie Bellson, Joe Morello and Ed Shaughnessy. As a leader he strives to maintain the integrity of the music and allows each of his musicians ample time and space to stretch out and play. His latest CD release "Swing that Music" is now available and is enjoying excellent reviews. Musicians and listeners alike readily agree that, "Donn truly loves to "SWING THAT MUSIC".

Donn's teaching career has been interesting and varied. From his early work with several drum and bugle corps to numerous private students, he has covered everything from traditional to contemporary styles. Many of his former students are now playing with top bands and orchestras all over the country.

Our goal is to prepare our students to perform and act as professionals. As professional musicians and entertainers, we consider ourselves to be students of the arts and learn from each other. We expect our students to practice, perform , participate or attend all styles of music performances. Your eyes and ears are a great asset to improving your own performance. We are very proud of our exceptionally talented teaching staff of professional musicians and entertainers. Many of our students will continue their music education in college. Our instructors are very serious with their work and consider music to be as important as Math, English, Science or any other important subject. We hope our students and parents feel the same.

Kenny Lewis - Drums Music Education: Berklee College of Music.

Ken has performed live and in the recording studio with Michael Sweet (Vocalist with "Stryper".) Joan Kennedy (MCA records) and the popular country band "Almost Cowboys". He also played on the movie sound track "Pentathlon" starring Dolph Lundsren and David Soul. (Aired on HBO). Ken owns and operates the "Mixed Emotions Recording Studio" in Middleton. Ken has been teaching for Donn since 1986. Donn not only thinks of Ken as a great instructor but as a great friend. Ken started drum lessons with Donn at a very young age. We are very proud of Ken and his very successful music career. Our students think very highly of him and he is respected by his fellow instructors and musicians.
